    Re: Ultimate Protectant Spray

    ^^ I agree!

...Only I'm not sure how it would work spraying on and walking away (without rubbing it in).

What level of shine can we expect for interior use as compared to Quik interior detailer, natural shine, and supreme shine?

I'm guessing somewhere around Supreme Shine? QID is going to be about as matte as you can get I'd think, then working your way up your list.

Durability should be on par with the original lotion version.

The ingredients that make an aerosol an aerosol dramatically alter the product (think Endurance Tire Dressing in gel, trigger spray and aerosol - the aerosol is quite a bit different than the other two).

It's not quite Ultimate Protectant, but this is what I use for exactly what you have described - Accent Dressing

                Michael,

What was the reasoning behind making the same product in spray-able form? Easier application?

I believe so. Getting it out of the bottle without getting it everywhere else is a bit of a pain too.

I've read that with the lotion UP, a little goes a loooonnnggggg way. Does this go for the spray UP as well? Do you need to "work in" spray UP as much as the lotion? Do you have to buff the surface with with spray UP unlike lotion UP?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm very close to buying the spray form and I like to know some details.

                    Thanks!

To be totally candid, a big part of the change was additional market research that showed the buying public wants a spray product for interior dressing and a lotion product for exterior surfaces. The hard core enthusiast may not care as much, but the average consumer sure does. Go figure.

Use the spray exactly as you would the lotion - thoroughly work it in; a little goes a long way; don't overuse; should be no need to wipe off excess; apply to a prepped and clean surface; etc.

I have found the same thing. Great product but the design of the bottle makes it really hard to get it out without it going everywhere.

A Mirror Glaze-type dispenser on the top (like on most Megs polishes and waxes) would have been ideal.

                          Is it 16oz, or 15.2oz?

Anyways, this will be great when you spray it on the foam pad!

I've got to say that the spray version of Ultimate Protectant worked far better for me than the lotion. It was much easier to apply on the exterior trim and gave better coverage. It seemed to last much, much longer than the lotion. I haven't had time to really study the results as we're still in the middle of winter and I just did a quick pre-spring detail - but it's definitely replaced the lotion version already and is something that I "want" to use.

As a few people mentioned earlier, the smell of the lotion version wasn't too pleasant - and I agree. The spray version smells different...it's not "pleasing"..but at least it is tolerable.
