  • Car Washes

I'm looking at this detailer line and I see there is like four washes and I was wondering why first off and how do they stack up with the consumer line washes.

    Thanks,

Hyper-Wash is good for economical reasons but I used it the other day at the recommended dilution (400:1) and it didn't feel all that safe. Compared to washes like Gold Class or M62, Hyper-Wash is not that slick. But, it is economical. It's cleaning ability is not that great either IMHO.

Shampoo-Plus, I have not used but I am sure someone else will chime in with it. I have heard though that it is better than Gold Class.

Super Soap is known for creating a lot of foam and suds which is why it is great in a foam gun. Other than that, I don't know of it's cleaning ability or slickness factor.

M62 Car Wash Shampoo and Conditioner is actually one of my favorite washes but it is also the most expensive car wash Maguiars offers. I really like it because it blends the slickness of Gold Class with the cleaning ability of NXT. I give it a

NXT Car Wash is my current favorite for it's cleaning ability and slickness. It also foams very nicely.

Gold Class is a superb wash known for having incredible slickness but does not clean as well as NXT. This also creates a very rich, thick foam.

Deep Crystal is a good wash for wheels, tires, wheel wells or for those who are on a tighter budget. I can get it at Wal-Mart for $7 a gallon so it is a great deal. It is about middle of the pack on all fronts (slickness, cleaning ability, foam).

I personally prefer Shampoo Plus over all the others. I have used GC for a long time. Tried the Shampoo Plus. Never went back.

Of Super Soap, M62 and Shampoo Plus, which works best in a foam gun?

Or don't they work in a foam gun?

(working would mean most foam production, I believe you've covered other concerns)

Super Soap would work best, followed by M62, followed by Shampoo Plus. I have not used them in a foam gun but from the reviews, this appears to be the order.

Best may be subjective as well.

At least one person loves UW&W in a gun, and one hated it.

From, the Detailer's Line I like Super Soap the most. Smells great, cleans well, priced quite low, and most importantly, it produces loads of suds.

The Detailer Line of chemicals is primarily that - an industrial chemical line. Some of the washes are literally designed to be used with different types of industrial wash equipment, hence the various dilution ratios. Example - if your equipment is designed to dilute at 400:1 you aren't going to be happy using ANY product that is designed to be diluted at 128:1.

As for using any of these soaps with a foam gun, Super Soap is the only one designed specifically for this type of application. Not exactly a consumer foam gun, but similar at least. All of them can be used, but Super Soap will give you more foam and rinse away easier.

That is what I have read as well. I have UW&W and is VERY viscous, until you aggitate it in water it will often keep it's form. I would about gunking up the gun too.

I see my self doing what Tuck does which often is a combo of 2 soaps such as Super Soap and NXT.

I never put straight soap of any of them in, but even diluted, the wax could still dry in it, or something. I probably dont rinse it out very well after use either.... I'll save UW&W for my hand use.

                        +1

I agree. I use GC for every week washing, then I use UW&W every other 3 weeks, just to add a little bit more protection.

I'm curious to know about this 2 soap combo....Do you mix the two and is this alright to do? Like say mixing the GC and Nxt car washes to get the slickness of GC and the cleaning power of NXT.
