  • M105 and M205

    Hello all I'm new to the forum. I have a question I have a 58 Bonneville that has single stage paint. Would it be a good idea to use M105 and M205? The paint has some oxidation and pretty bad water spots. Come to find out my garage roof is leaking that's where the water spots came from. Thanks

    Try 83/80 combo. They were designed for nourishing dry SS paint.

      Dat dude, pick up a bottle of SwirlX and Ultimate Compound from your local auto store or Walmart. Begin with SwirlX. After washing the vehicle, apply the SwirlX with a foam applicator to a test spot (20"x20"). Wipe off immediately with a good quality, clean microfiber towel and inspect. If you like what the SwirlX accomplished, then polish the rest of the car. If you determine that you need a stronger product, then do a second test spot with Ultimate Compound, using a different foam applicator. Wipe off and inspect. How does the paint look? If you like the look, then compound the rest of the car. If the UC should leave behind some micro-marring, follow up with SwirlX.

        While both of the above are good suggestions, we'd be inclined to go with M80/M83 on single stage paint - it just loves those two!

          ^ I would agree, I was told this as well. something like 95% of the time 105/205 will work fine but for those cars with single stage or is "dry" the 80/83 would do the trick.
