  • Build Up?

I have been using the black Ultimate detailing spray bottle. Gives a great shine. However after a week or so the shine seems to be less. Another application brings back the shine. Car is garage kept (restorod). Only out for cruise nights or shows- a few time per month.
Is it possible that too much detailing liquid and wax is the cause? I only use your products (Tech 2 wax).

Are you using the Ultimate Quick Detailer, or Ultimate Quick Wax?

The wax should last a bit longer than the detailer spray.

That said, if you have only been using Nxt Tech Wax 2.0, some other prep may be helpfull, such as claying and cleaning.

As good as it is, Ultimate Quik Detailer is still just a mist and wipe quick detail spray so any shine it imparts on the surface shouldn't be expected to last terribly long. As Murr points out, Ultimate Quik Wax will last longer - it's designed to.

When is the last time you waxed with the NXT Tech Wax 2.0? If it's been a few months then that product may be getting thin, which will lessen the gloss too.

I have used the quick wax detailer also. Car has a heck of a shine and I get a LOT of complements of how good it looks. Brandywine metalic. 40 Ford coupe. I do tell people what I use on the car.

          Re: Build Up?

I think it will depend on what is blocking the shine.

Do you have any pictures, or can you describe how it looks without the shine? Is it only on certain surfaces (ie: side, top)?

Is there perhaps a lot of dust being attracted to the car?

My guess would be perhaps not all the product is thoroughly being remove and it is attracting tiny dust particles to it. I think this happens to me sometimes if I don't follow up with a completely new and dry microfiber after wiping off the product with another fiber.

Waxes wont adhere as long if any dirt, etc is on the surface also.
