  • Hyper Dressing Application

Hello, I just bought a gallon of Hyper Dressing and tried it on 4:1..

I tried it on my engine and wheel wells, and they look very nice, I just sprayed the HD and let them dry, buff any remaining HD...

I have a problem with the application for my tires, I hope you guys can help me out. I tried to sprayed the 4:1 HD to my dad's tires. It went dry they were black, but uneven, they looked like some water stain running down.. So I decided to try the application with sprayed it and brushed it on my car's tires.. but still it was quite uneven... Any recommendation from you guys? Thanks a lot

I usually use Hot shine spray (application spray and brush), and endurance gel (foam pad or brush)

You might trying spraying less on the tire. You don't need a lot as it seems to migrate. I'm guessing the running of the HD is what is causing the problem.

Did you do any sort of wipe with a towel after spraying the HD on the tires, or did you just spray and walk away? If the latter, then since HD doesn't have any sort of special self leveling properties on a vertical surface we would recommend spraying it on and then immediately wiping around the tire with an old, but clean, terry cloth towel. Better yet, rather than spraying directly onto the tire (which almost always translates into overspray somewhere) try spraying it onto an applicator of some sort (foam, folded towel, etc) and wiping it on the tire.

Try diluting it 2 or 3:1 and spray onto a tire applicator and spread it around evenly. The reason why it may be uneven or watery is because the dilution is at 4:1 (still kinda watery) which IMO is not really that great for tires, but for more on engines, wells, etc, and even for that I use it at 3:1.

Did you degrease the tires before applying HD? Might be the solvent from the previous dressing interfering with HD from doing its work.

I've worked with so much 4x4 tires (big fat ones LOL) and never had any problem with HD 4:1 or even 3:1. Key is to let it soak in the tires; reapplication sometimes required.

No, I didn't wipe the tires after spraying the HD. I sprayed then use a brush to make it even then walk away. Hm pretty much different with endurance or hot shine.. which I think they were easier.

I'll try to spray it less and use brush to spread it, and then wipe off excess HD water.. Thanks

Hmm, on my father's camry, I cleaned the tires with APC first.. Then I sprayed the HD and then walk away, maybe it would be better If I use brush and wipe it afterward

On my car, yes I sprayed it on tires which previously sprayed with APC and blast with a pressure washer.. The I spray the HD and brushed it. I think I should spray less and brush it, then wipe the excess HD..

Thank you all, I'll try to apply the HD on the next washing, which I think, tomorrow..

Apply it evenly and let it soak for a while, should take care of your problem. I'd do it 2:1 or 1:1 though, looks better imo, 4:1 just make the tire look black but kinda flat

It is a paint brush from Ace Hardware.. Well I got the best application method I could found... I use a foam applicator to apply 1 water : 2 Hyper dressing.. And The Shine is real nice to me.. Even it looks great in my engine bay.. Sprayed and wipe them after a while with a MF..
