When I watch this aution on TV I'm amazed at how many "high dollar" vehicles are full of swirls.

Yeah, I have never seen a properly detailed car at those on TV. They are always shredded with swirls

What's worse is how I critque vehicles not only on these type shows, but in parking lots, driving down the road and sitting in drive ways. I just gotta let it go...let it go...
I think I just need to stay in the house and draw the shades. It'll be okay!

Since becoming a member of MOL and lurking about here, I can't help but to do the same!
Thinking to myself how I'd fix the problems and wondering how people can just let their cars go like that!

Five of us here at Meguiar's went to lunch together today. As we walked through the parking lot near where we ate, well, let's just say you want to be careful about how you take care of your car when a battalion of Meguiar's guys are cruising the lot!

We weren't being disrespectful, mind you, just ......um.....observant.

There you go. You become very observant of others vehicles when you get into detailing correctly.

Well, I wouldn't either, but I don't think that anyone's going to pee on your car if it's dirty or doesn't look it's best. Especially anyone from the Meguiar's employees. lol

Re: The Best & the Worst in Detailing...

I was with my father in law the other day and as we approached his truck I blurted out "You know, I can get those ouy for you." He looked at me and asked what I meant and I told him that he had swirl marks all over. "I don't have swirl marks, do I?" he says.
"Sure you do." I replied and proceeded to point them out. He said he never really noticed them before but since I showed him they are driving him nuts. Guess I've got a job to do...

I also pointed out all of the paint damage on almost all of the cars at the NYIAS in April.

Over half the daily drivers on the road today would be a waste of time correcting since they would go right back to a swirled out mess or not be properly maintained.

They are better off with just having a clean interior and engine. As well as having smooth, shiny and glossy paint that is free of oxidation.

Yes I have to agree, that is the sad reality we face in the world of detailing.
