Can i use these products by hand?

I have a white 1998 Toyota camry nearing it 200,000 miles, the paint is chipping in some spots, there are black stains on the door handles and doors, (looks like oil to me) I want to try and revive the paint

What would you suggest? The Ultimate compound looks like it will
work for me.

Can i use these products by hand, or is there a buffer, or machinery
that must be used?

This will be my first attempt to clean/wax the car myself.

Any tips would be helpful

Buffers can make things easier, but nothing you cant try by hand.

No product will fix chipped paint of course, but the rest can probably be helped.

Try the UC with a foam applicator, using the surface of your fingers/palm, and not fingertips, and do a test area/panel. See what kind of results you get with a couple applications.
