  • Cleaning the Easy Buff Pad from the Headlight and Clear Plastic Restoration Kit?

I just used Meguiars Headlight and Clear Plastic Restoration Kit for the first time yesterday on a job, and the results were brilliant! (pun intended)

But now for cleanup, does anyone have suggestions for cleaning the kit's Easy Buff Pad? With it's permanent steel drill shaft, the washer is obviously out of the question. I was thinking to maybe let ii soak in APC+ (10:1 dilution).

Maybe it's something I missed off the box.

I always wash this by hand with some soap. If I am doing a full detail then I will save my soap bucket (not the rinse bucket) and while the wax is drying on the car wash it out by hand in the bucket. If you need a little more cleaning power then spray the pad with some APC and continue to wash in the bucket. It chews up a little time and gives me something to do while I wait for the wax to dry. I do any other pads at this time as well and by the time I am done, the wa is dry and ready for removal.

To quickly dry it, attach it to the drill, stand away from the car, and rev the drill to its highest setting for a few seconds. Works every time!!

Soap and water, working the fibers thoroughly with your fingers. Shake it dry and then mount it back in the drill and spin it drier still. It won't come up 100% perfectly clean, but you probably already assumed that.
