  • Premium - Garry Dean - Tampa, FL Detailed 2005 black Cadillac CTS-V

This past weekend I made a trip up to ffice:smarttags" />Jacksonville from Tampa to detail a 2005 black Cadillac CTS-V for a new client. The job was to consist of sanding down several touched up paint chips and to do a 1 step polish on the exterior as well as a complete interior detail and protect.

This car was very well kept, but still it was 5 years old and had some minor swirling. The owner had some paintwork done on the engine cover of this 400 horsepower LS6 engine. It was a very nicely airbrushed alligator. The engine bay was not part of the deal, but I felt it very necessary to go ahead and clean it up a bit.

    Exterior:

    Wash with Dawn
Clayed with Pinnacle Ultra Poly clay bar
    Dried with the Absorber
Exterior windows cleaned with Adams Glass Cleaner
Taped with 3M and Duct Tape making tape
Wet sanded touched up paint chips with 2500 grit Meguiars wet sanding paper
Wet sanding marks were compounded out with 4” LC orange pads on G110 and Megs M105
Polished with PC7424XP, 5.5” Lake Country Orange pads, and Menzerna Power Finish
1 coat of Adams Americana paste wax
    LSP was Adams Detail Spray

    Tires and wheels:

Wheels and tires were sprayed with Purple Power
Wheel barrels were cleaned with Daytona Wheel Brush
Lugs cleaned with Carrand lug brush
Tires dressed with Optimum Opti-Bond tire gel and Eagle One tire swipe

    Interior:

Vacuumed with Rigid 5hp portable vac
Interior windows cleaned with Adams Glass Cleaner
Leather, vinyl, and all plastics cleaned with Megs APC+ 20:1
All interior surfaces dressed with Optimum Protectant Plus
Door Jambs were cleaned with Adams Detail Spray

    Here are some pics!

    Before

After wet sanding chip touch up

    After M105, all gone!

A pic of some of the tape

Some 50/50’s. Please excuse the polish residue I didn’t wipe completely off.

Hard at work. A pic of the battle zone.

    Now for some afters!

Please excuse the piece of lint on the right.

    Thanks for looking!

Beautiful! I was unable to determine what exactly was painted on the engine cover until you unearthed it. Is that grill hard to clean? I've been looking to replace my honeycomb grill with something easier to clean.

The grill was a breeze to clean. No problems.

        Thanks guys!

Ahhh, two of my dreams in one thread - to own a black CTS-V and to keep it perfectly clean... Great work!

I'm not a fan of the engine cover, but at least it makes the car unique, and that's all that counts.
