Hi, with the rotary buffer, will it make much difference if I use the 6.5 backing plate with the 2.0 pads, or should I get the 7-inch one. The difference is I can get the 6.5 one quite a bit cheaper, around $10 on Amazon.

While you can use the W65, you just won't get the maximum benefit of the W68 / 2.0 pad combo as they were designed.

The W68 (5.75" backing plate for our 7" 2.0 foam pads) will work on a W4000, you just won't have the centering button...
You reference the W4000 as a 6.5" pad...The W4000 is a 8" wool pad ?Mike Pennington

You are correct...There is no 7" 2.0 wool pad to go with the new W68 backing plate, so most people just use the W68 backing plate with both the W4000 wool pad and the 2.0 foam pads....Originally posted by Marcki View Post
