  • 2001 Mustang detailed in COLD snowy weather! New Gold Class Carnauba Plus

    Hello all,

I detailed this car in my garage during 5-35 F degree temperatures. I was curious to see how our Mirror Glaze line worked in such cold climates. After testing multiple different products, I concluded that my pad (rotary) jumped more often than not and the products loaded up significantly faster. Keep in mind that Meguiar's doesn't advise our products being used past 50 degrees. Unfortunately, since I live in Chicago, that was not an option =). Enjoy some new 2010 products such as Ultimate Protectant and Gold Class Carnauba Plus paste.

Multiple lights and heaters to keep my warm. This was testing some products on my car.

    Before

    before

    Dirty Interior

I used Bug and Tar Remover, to remove all the tar off the side of the car. I tried claying it, but it just took to long for me. I let the product sit for about 30 minutes and then it wiped off effortlessly. Keep in mind, that you could stain the paint if you leave the product on for that long.

I am still learning how to take before and afters. You guys are so much better than me. Please forgive me!

    Before

I used Meguiar's Unigrit 1500, but needed something more aggressive to have a perfect fix.

Sanding water froze on me =(.

Cold temps or not, car looks great! Detailing in the cold does take the fun out of it.
There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

Great improvement. I have worked on cars in the cold and just about everything to a car in the cold and it is no fun at all! I cant imagine trying to wet sand in the winter. Props to you. Great job

Wow! Great job Andrew! When I saw the froze water, I thought you accidentally dropped your sandpaper into your drink. LOL You did a really great job on that Mustang and bigger props for doing it in the extreme cold. I'm glad I live down in the South. 50-60 degree days are a lot better.
