  • Ceramic Paint Sealant

Does anyone came across Ceramic Paint Sealant? How does it differs with typical Synethic Paint Sealant? I tried to read more above the Ceramic Paint Sealant but it appears there isn't much info. Any feedbacks on the above is welcome. Thanks.

      Re: Ceramic Paint Sealant

A quick Google search brought up a product being sold on ebay with claims of a one year life span, unless used in conjunction with their polish - then the claim is for 3 years life span.

They also say you wipe it on and wet wipe it off, yet it offers scratch resistance.

Interesting claims to say the least, especially if you consider what's really going on with the application and removal process, how much product is being left behind, and whether or not that very thin layer can possibly add scratch resistance to any paint.

That does not mean that we are just dismissing it outright, but we are very skeptical about any such claims.

Seems to good to be true. Long life span and scratch resistance?

As a sucker for any new detailing products I had to try it. Super Ceramic Coating was $60 for the kit that included the ceramic coating and the sealant. The kit also includes the applicator and a microfiber towel. I watched several how to videos on You Tube that provided detailed info on the application. I used a DA with a polishing compound to prep the paint. Then I applied the ceramic coating per instructions. After allowing it to cure for an hour I used the ceramic sealant which is wipe on and wipe off. The importance of allowing the product to cure for 12 hours before being exposed to water is stressed over and over. I can't say it's an easy application especially when you consider having to polish first. The gloss is unmatched by anything I've ever used. We shall see how long the protection last.
