While UQW is quick and easy, it's a spray wax and therefore not a real substitute for a proper liquid or paste wax. If you applied Gold Glass 6 months ago there's probably not much left today, even with fairly regular applications of UQW. While UQW may be pretty tenacious for a spray wax, it is just not a substitute for the real deal. And don't fixate on the "once a month" part of our earlier response - we said that depends on how much exposure, and what kind of exposure, the car gets. A lot of heavy rain is pretty hard on any wax or sealant. Here in SoCal, for example, we may get heavy rain for a total of a few hours every year (light rain a few other times during the year, like this morning for example) but other areas get days and days of near torrential rain fairly regularly, and that changes things a lot.

Just got a bottle of this last weekend on special, despite having two bottles of the original version. The price was too hard to resist. Can't wait to try it. I have always found Gold Class liquid wax to provide a great look and durability is fine so long as the prep is good. A clay and an A12 cleaner wax base is all it takes to get the best out of GC.

I don't know why I had a spare bottle of the original - one bottle can last me years even if used exclusively.

Hey Michael, I'm pretty happy with how my DD (Impreza) seems to be holding up to the weather here in Vancouver (parked outside)....Lotsa rain, and my DD is washed weekly with UWW. I assume the "beading" of water is from the coating of UQW...if the GC is mostly gone? I guess I will use my GC paste a bit more often....GC wax is soo cheap anyways
However, I clayed my wife's van more than a yr ago....but ran out of time( i was tired)....so i just used UQW....decided to use just UQW every other wash....gotta say my wifey's van always looks clean & shiney...even when I haven't washed in a couple weeks....very close to the real deal for me, UQW is a great product....the van btw is garaged. I think using proper dilution ratio on wash soap helps too when washing weekly?
Anyways now that I have 2 new DA polishers and a tonne of pads....I can wax my DD monthly

i have one question for you guys... i waxed my car with GCLW last saturday and since i have the GCQD, is this ok to use it daily without ''damaging'' the brilliant shine if GCLW???

You should be just fine using the GCQD as a daily quick detail to keep the car clean and looking great between washes/waxes. Use good quality microfiber towels and pay attention to proper technique as well as the amount of dust/dirt and road contaminants that build up between QD sessions. If you are truly doing this daily, you should be able to keep the car looking great!

Mine is too... Black is beautiful but can be a real challenge, since if you even BREATHE on it wrong, it seems to show a new defect

                  • Just thought I’d post on an old thread. Feeling a bit nostalgic. This was the very first wax I bought from Meguiars. While I’ve moved on to ULW years ago, thought I’d buy a tin of gold class paste wax . It still has that great smell. While the durability is nowhere near the new ULW , I think I’ll use the gold class on the little delivery van at work . Still a great paste wax . Franco

                    • Hey Franco!!
I think alot of the old Megs fans remember Gold Class well. It was a favorite when it came out. I know a few people that still use it and love it. Like most all Megs stuff, as you say smells great, it looks soft and warm, just great reflections.
it's funny, just an hour ago I went and shook some of my bottles of... everything. Just something I do, shake them all up yo keep them mixed - I am nuts keep in mind, lol. I shook up an unopened bottle of High-Tech Yellow Wax, another old fav. Well it's opened now, as I shook it, it split at the bottle seam. Sealed it up in a bag. But the smell came out right away, smells so good!!

                      • Hey Buddy! Always good to hear from you my friend! I do the same exact thing, I shake my liquid waxes every two weeks to keep them suspended. Then I’ll smell them. My wife just walks by and shakes her head….hope you’re doing well and enjoying the spring brother. Franco

                        • Speaking of bottles, I see that Meguiars is coming out with thicker and better bottles. Awesome!

                          • Lol totally relate on the smelling.
Thicker bottles is great! I cracked the neck along the seam shaking a bottle of Hybrid Ceramic Detailer. They seem so thin.
Spring is here, back to car mental therapy!!
Enjoy the no snow weather my friend!!

Sounds good to me. I've cracked a few of them over the years.
