This thing looked terrible when it came to me. Looked like someone had washed it with sandpaper. My customer had bought it for his girlfriend for a great deal and wanted me to do the best I could with it. It had 180k miles on it and some oxidation in the paint on the roof that needed to be re-painted but overall it came out great and they were very happy with the results. I hit this with the clay, M105, M205, and finished it off with the NXT Wax.

Almost 9/10 Accord Coupes of this generation are in that kind of condition. The 10th one is actually worse...

Yep, typical Honda soft paint after years of neglect. Even from far away (first pic) you can see the swirling!

              Outstanding turnaround!

                Crazy swirls!

                Good work... 50/50's were cool.

                      rivalrider,

Great job on the Accord! My family has the same 1998 Honda Accord but in sedan form. Same color and it too looks just like this one you tackled and has crazy spider swirls like this has!!! Looks horrible.

I used System One before and tried to fix the swirls up but to no avail. System One was just too weak for the hammered swirls.

I figure M105 is like rocks in a bottle so its more aggressive and like you just did, will fix the Accord 100% better.

Anyway I just wanted to know what kind of process you used on this Accord and what kind of pad you used in conjunction with the M105?

Did you have to use wool to hammer out the swirls? And then switch to a polishing pad with the 205?

How many passes did you start to see better results? What RPM did you use and how long did you keep polishing in a panel?

Do you think I could use 105 with wool and System One with a polishing pad to finish off?

Please let me know and great job. I look forward in replicating what you just done with this Accord.
