  • How to remove Clear Coat?

Ok Listen to the situation before you freak out and think I'm trying to remove the clear on my paint haha

A while back I had a panel repainted on my truck and the guy did not mask off part of the panel that connects the bed to the cabin. (the bed panel was being sprayed) There is flaky clear on the plastic there now and It comes off and chips with my fingernail but that would take forever. Is there anything that would take off the Clear without damaging the plastic?

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

    I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
    Remove swirls my friends.

Wouldn't wet sanding mar the plastic it is on?

          Missed the plastic part.
Maybe a pressure washer for an hour, that should do it.

I guess I'll just try to pressure ash up close and hopefully it maybe does something

So there is paint overspray on your plastic???

Clay the Plastic, APC, don't sand it though.

Check with the paint mixer at your local PBE store and see if they have a suggestion for a product/chemical that will remove the overspray but won't hurt the plastic.
