I have what looks like dust specs on the windshield which are visible when driving into a bright sunlight. The windshield is covered with them. I am meticulous about cleaning the glass with Invisible Glass and microfiber and have even clayed the glass to get rid of the specs. Didn't work. The car is a 2008 Honda Accord. Any tips for removing the specs, eg, polishing?

Re: Windshield Cleaning Problem
Since you clayed the exterior glass. No improvement. I had a friends glass behaved the same way. I finally tried claying the interior glass and problem solved.
I realize this sounds silly. But this did happen. Thought I would pass it along.quality creates its own demand

Re: Windshield Cleaning Problem
I don't believe the specs are small rock chips. For one, I don't drive in an area that would have caused them and, secondly, the paint would be chipped also. It's not. The glass also feels smooth to the touch. I really believe they are a embedded contaminant of some type.

Re: Windshield Cleaning Problem
The glass is pitted by sand. Won't really chip the paint, you'll notice it on the paint, but it's easier to polish that out, and you wouldn't think anything of it. But when silica (sand) collides with silica (windshield) you get problems.
Im no expert at fixing this, it's just my two cents from living in the desert my whole life. You live at the beach....SANDNewb!

Re: Windshield Cleaning Problem
I live in SE PA - no desert, no beach - and have the same problem. I got some M04 a while ago to address this problem, but haven't had time to try it.
The inside glass claying idea from J.A. sounds interesting, too.Last edited by gjohn28; Mar 22, 2009, 03:18 PM.2013 Highlander - black

So my old windshield=hard
My dads and my new windshield=soft.Newb!
