Wheel Brite feedback

Hello, I have a 2009 BMW 335I with factory wheels and have tried all the off the shelf wheel cleaners including P21 with little success. I can never get all the brake dust spots off the rims.

I would like to get some feedback on Megs wheel brite.....is it too strong??

You could try claying your wheels

It depends also on what kind of wheels they are, because Meguiars Wheel Brightner is an acid so it can harm some wheels.

How are you using the wheel cleaners? Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner is pretty strong.

Are you:

-Hosing off the wheels
-Spraying the Cleaner thoroughly & Evenly on the wheel
-Letting it sit 30-60 seconds
-Lightly Scrub the wheels with a wheel brush
-Hose off wheels

If you are just spraying the wheels and expecting the cleaner to melt the brake dust off on its own, it probably won't happen.

You could try claying the wheels, if you did do the above process^^^

A word of warning about BMW brakes; they dust A LOT! Honestly, once you get them clean, the best thing you can do is clean them at least once a week, because otherwise the buildup becomes excessive and sometimes won't come off easy anymore once it bakes on. Cleaning them once a week can be done with simply car was soap, water, and a brush, which makes it a much easier task, and if you clean them a few times a week, you can even get away with just spraying on wheel cleaner, letting it soak for a few seconds, and hosing off.

Once they are bakes on, however, you are going to have a HARD time getting it off, and this is where Meguiar's Wheel Brightener comes in handy. Keep in mind though, that BMW recommends AGAINST using acidic wheel cleaners on their wheels, however we have had luck using them CAREFULLY, and only on their coated, gray surfaced, wheels like these:


Key though is make sure you wear safety glasses and chemical resistant gloves because it is STRONG stuff!
