  • Paint Sealants

I have heard people mention that applying a "poly sealant" to your paint
seals it and protects it for a long time.

I am confused about the different types of sealants out there and which
one would be best for a new car.

Do you still need to wax after using a sealant?

    Re: Paint Sealants

Since this is your first post to our forum,

    Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

Car Waxes and Paint Sealants are both products that are used to seal and protect paint, you normally would pick one or the other. We have a forum group called Hot Topics and in this forum group are a lot of threads with some of the most popular topics of discussion as they pertain to detailing cars, so may read through it and you'll find other topics of interest.

Here's on that addresses your question. Because your question comes up often and there's a lot of confusion over the terms used to describe paint protection products we have an article that addresses it and if it is a hot topic then it gets written in or moved to the Hot Topics forum group.

Is it a wax? Or a paint sealant?
