Do you use the Grit Guard?

Considering they are $15 for a pair of two, and they will probably last a lifetime unless you do something very stupid with them, I can't see any reason not to have them. I've been using them for a few months and I think they do what they say they do. Are they magic? No. But they are a smart design that will definitely reduce the potential for instilling swirls when washing your car. Even if it's a very small reduction, I'd say that's worth $15 over the course of many, many washes.

Grit guards also keep the dirt from moving inside your bucket, think tornado action.

I voted "No" simply because I couldn't find any at local market. that's sad

I was with you until a few weeks back. You are 100% right that it is near if not impossible to find these anywhere. I bought mine through online retailers. Can't say I notice a difference because my car is not extremely dirty between washes. But can say that they was a nice amount of black grit resting at the bottom of the bucket when I completed my wash. So I know that did not end up back on my car.

I tried using a grit guard a few times since the neighbor had one, but I stopped using them because the dirt was always getting stirred up every time I tried to rub the mitt on the grit guard. Instead, I had a second bucket partly-filled with clean water, and refilled the bucket after cleaning the mitt. Using a grit guard takes twice as long to wash the car, and unless you have a million-dollar paint job, or an antique car with original paint, it's just not worth the extra time or effort. If you just rinse the dirt off well before washing, a grit guard is unnecessary.
