  • Brake Dust Inhibitor for Wheels

How about a product that would keep brake dust from sticking to your wheels? I could clean my Volvo wheels every week and they'd still be dirty...cheap OEM pads. Anything else squeaks like a city bus.

There are some comapanies out there that make a piece of plastic that go on the inside of the wheel face and block the dust from coming out. They look really ugly on about 90% of OEM wheels but that's just my opinion.

Yeah, I was hoping for like a really slick protectant or something that was spray-on or wipe-on. Don't think putting a piece of plastic so close to the brakes would be a good idea...lots of heat generated in that area.

Just found this from Mopar, irionically called "Brake Dust Inhibitor": http://media.jrthompson.com/mopar/10...inhibitor.html. I'd love to see Meg's design something similar!

Meguiar's helps design and IIRC, formulate quite a bit of car manufacturer's detailing products.

That product does look interesting though. I'd be curious to see some reviews of it.

I agree the product looks interesting. I suppose 60% reduction is a good start.

How about swapping over to drum brakes off an older Volvo?
