Re: Old Meguiar's Glaze
It's a bottle of post-World War II MGH-7 Sealer and Reseal Glaze.
It looks like a very nice bottle and would be a great addition to anyone's collection.
I've got about 5-6 bottle of MGH-7 so don't think I'll be bidding... It's pretty cool the owner linked to MOL for prospective buyers to get more information.
Here's a small picture collection over the years...

Re: Old Meguiar's Glaze
Well I just placed my bid... and was promply outbid!
I have a tan plastic bottle of #7 with the green print. Can anyone tell me about what timefram Meguiar's used this style bottle? I believe based on Mike's picture it was the one before the current bottle design.

Re: Old Meguiar's Glaze
Let me just say this:
It is hard to place a price on these products because they are so difficult to find. The problem is that these products were used. It's not like a fine piece of jewelry that someone kept in a box and out of sight.
We are basically putting a price on history.
I always find it interesting to look at the products of the past and how they evolved into what they are today. For example, my old (and rusty) tin of MGH-8 tells how to apply it to your car. Now, it's known as M08 Mold Release Wax.
So while I can't afford to buy a vintage car from the 50's, I find it interesting to research what people used to keep them detailed.
Of the early Meguiar's bottles, the Mirror Glaze Sealer and Resealer MGH-7 is the easiest to find. The paint cleaners from that era are by far the hardest to find. If you find a Mirror Bright bottle, I strongly suggest you buy it. Also, Mirror Glaze made detailing products for Buick, so you will occasionally find Buick Glaze, Buick Cleaner, and Buick Chrome Polish. And, don't forget about the Mirror Bright Furniture Polish.Last edited by PorscheGuy997; Nov 7, 2008, 02:23 PM.Chris
