anyone have experience buffing out a chrysler 300? my friend just bought one, black pearl paint. the paint has many fine scratches on it and was curious as to what products others have used on these cars.

ive got a rotary and DA and a good selection of polishes. just looking for first hand knowledge

I worked on my neighbors 300M
I just treated it like any other car, my steps were

    Wash
    Clay
    M80
    M07
and topped it off with two thin layers of Gold Class Wax,

    Nothing really special.

I detailed one a while back for a friend also. His was black with metallic flake. The car was not in real back shape so I used 80 with the g-100 and a few 8006 pads topped it off with Nxt and it appeared that the flake was floating above the finish. I have as of yet gotten a chance to detail it again(it is in need).

Not to pick nits here, but the 300M was a front drive vehicle on the same platform as the Dodge Intrepid and production ran from 1999-2004. It was replaced in 2005 by the Mercedes E-Class derived RWD platform 300. The "C" designation was reserved for the Hemi powered variant. This is the same platform used by the Charger, Magnum and in slightly modified form, the new Challenger.

Yeah, I'm a MOPAR guy, what can I say?

To the original question though: I've worked on a couple of newer 300's and both were quite easy to correct using the basics: M80 on a G110.

Yeah, obviously I am not!! i knew 300 M did not sound right but i did not want to say 300C due to the hemi. his car is a "300" without the hemi. what is that then?

good news on the M80 working. i hope it works his paint is BAD! every inch is scratch. he bought it from enterprise car rental and looks like they washed it everyday with a truck brush.

                        It's just a 300 without the C

Could be a totally base 300, a Limited or Touring. Without the Hemi it just isn't a "Letter Car", that's all.
