  • Failed Attempt at Brand Loyalty and "WET P8NT" Sighting

    I don't know where I got it, but when I got home from work this afternoon I had tar all along the driver's side of my Camry. I wanted to buy and try the Meguiar's Bug & Tar Remover. I went from Pep Boys to Target to Walmart with no luck. I ended up buying Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover from Walmart.

    I walked back to my car feeling a little bummed about not finding Meg's B & T Remover after all that driving around and what do I see parked in front of my car? A black custom SUV with Meguiar's painted in Yellow on both sides and a license plate with "WET P8NT". I wasn't sure if it was an omen or not, but I quickly hid the TW under the front seat just to be safe.

    I figure the owner must work for Meg's and I can only hope they were in there to get Walmart to increase the selection of Meg's product that they carry.

    The paint on that SUV did look wet. I would be very happy if I could get my black paint to look half that good.

    On a final note, the TW Bug & Tar Remover did a fantastic job of removing the tar. Very quick and easy on the paint.

    Not sure who's that is, but yes he works for Meguiar's. I've seen him a couple times at Meguiar's and a couple years back at my local car wash.

    Monday I saw Jason Rose's truck at my local car wash, will try to upload the pictures from my phone. Didn't find him any where in sight though.

      The regional sales manager named Darren that co-taught the Advanced Class I recently attended drove a black Yukon with Meguiar's logos on the side, and I think I noticed that custom plate as well.

      Might be his?

          I don’t know if this is the same SUV that you saw, but I remember seeing it in a post from back in 2004. It’s a Meguiar’s black Suburban with "WET P8NT" license plate.





          The Suburban was Mike Pennington’s ride back then. I don’t know what he drives now. The last I remember he was driving a Magnum.

                  He does a stellar job of keeping the paint flawless all the time and because it's a daily driver that's a lot of work.

                    We built this for the 2006 SEMA Show...



                    I am lucky enough to drive this daily

                    You may also see some Tahoe's or even some Ford F-150's with the Meguiar's logo on them cruising around...If you ever see me or any other of the Meguiar's fleet again, please stop us and say hi.
