21 sealent smears

Can somebody please tell me why this is a problem. the car is 08 civic black; Paint has been clayed polished and gold class wax before with no problem, I let the sealent dry like 20 min. and remove with gold class micro towels. The car looks great but i have to go over with uqd to get rid of that blothy look.?

How about a few questions for you.
1) How did you apply it? (hand, g-100)
2) If you applied it by hand did you make sure it was a uniform thin coat?
3) Did you do a swipe test before you removed it?
4) Are your towels totally clean(washed with no fabric softener)
5) how humid was it outside?

It is most likely that you apllied it to thick and it did not dry completely before you removed it. This will leave a smeary/blotchy look behind. Try to apply it as thin as possible, let dry completely(do a swipe test to ensure it is dry) then remove with a clean micro fiber towel. If it is really humid out this could affect the dry time and cause a long time frame before you can remove it. Hope this helps you out.

Thanks andrew for geting back to me. Yes i did apply by hand useing all micro products. That being said i also have the g100 , Thinking back i may have put to thick of a coat on. when using the g100 you can spread it very thin as you said. tks

Try applying the thinnest coating you can while still leaving behind a film on the paint. Machine application works better for applying a thin, even application if you can, also use a finishing pad.

Allow the wax to fully dry before removing and then remove using a clean, soft microfiber. After wiping all the wax off, make a second pass using the below technique...

Final Wiping Techniques

Smears are product residue... that's all. It won't hurt anything it just doesn't look good. So carefully work any residue off the paint. Sometimes it helps to mist a little Quik Detailer or UQD onto the smear and then wipe.
