  • Meguiar's #80 Speed Glaze

How often can I apply #80 on a base coat/clear coat, with a PC, without reducing the life of the paint? How is the abrasiveness compared to #82 or #9?

You can safely use #80 Speed Glaze several times a year but you should only use if you have swirls or fine scratches that need removing. If you have eliminated these, there would be no reason to use it. I'd use a pure polish instead like #81.

IMO, #80 is initially fairly abrasive but the abrasives diminish very quickly. #82 and #9 are less abrasive but the abrasives break down slower so they are fairly equivalent in their ability to remove blemishes.

      Hey,

I have to agree with what has been said. Meguiar's #80 Speed Glaze is more aggressive than #82 and #9. For light cleaning I would suggest using the #9 or #82 and move up to the more aggressive #80 only when needed.
