  • NXT 1.0 or M21: Synthetic Paint Sealant

    Hi All expect here

I just upgrade to a new Silver-color Toyota last month, and purchase paint protection (without thinking its DIY possible). Witnessing the dealer doing such a quick Wipe-on & Wipe-off with the "paint-protection" application....I wonder how long it going to last !!??

That make me thinking to Wax it ASAP soon with either NXT 1.0 Liquid Wax (previous leftover) or go straight to M21 Synthetic sealant to pile-up some paint protection.

So.....which will be the better choice for longer lasting & appealing on Silver-paint finishing body ? or both in which order ?

Also do I need to wait for the Dealer's "Paint-protection" to settle ?

Look forward for your advise...and get starting on the detail over the weekend

    THanks in advance

it really wouldnt be a bad idea to hit it with a very thin coat of NXT then to M21. IMO its a great combo for long lasting protection. Maybe even hit it with some UQD for just a bit of added protection.

I would first check if this will void the warranty of your paint protection system. If your okay with that, then by all means I would diy. I would give the car a good claying. (using Meguiars smooth surface clay kit) Then hit it with the wax of your choice. NXT 2.0 Or Gold Class. Enjoy your new ride.

Check this out in the Myths and Confusion Section of this forum -- "Sticky: Dedicated just for questions about so-called paint protection plans and products."

If the surface of your paint is smooth, I'd simple apply a coat of NXT and "call it good."

Re: NXT 1.0 or M21: Synthetic Paint Sealant

If you witnessed the dealer applying this "paint protection" and it was just a simple wipe on/wipe off process then odds are you paid good money for a simple application of a synthetic product similar to M21, Zaino, or any other high quality synthetic sealant.

There used to be a pro detailer in the Chicago area who did excellent work detailing cars (he is now retired) who had a deal with a local Lamborghini dealer to apply a sealant to vehicles prior to delivery. He applied this product with a DA buffer and the dealer charged their customers $600 for this service. Keep in mind this was NOT a full detail, just a DA application of a good sealant on a clean, new car. The detailer also sold this product on his website - $10 for an 8 ounce bottle. It was good stuff, but no better than M21, NXT, Zaino, etc.

You bought paint insurance just like life insurance.

Just like life insurance it does not mean you should neglect yourself to get maximum life. You should should follow all normal tasks to maintain your car. Most paint insurance policies allow virtually anything since it reduces their risk of having to pay off on the policy. In some places it may make perfect sense if you have had paint problems.
