M105 by hand vs 2500 grit wetsanding marks

Oh okay, are there any other hand products that work similar in the range? Because I can't seem to get it here in Australia. Thanks for help guys.

We do have M105 in Australia. It's just not advertised and seen on retail shop shelves like most pro products, go figure . You can order it from most auto parts store or purchase online where I got mine from from CarCareProducts M105 Greg will help you out with any Meguiar's products you need.

have to take this interesting n important topic up again.

Have some questions:
1. If 105 is applicable by hand and foam applicator, why does meguiars have to release the DA approved version?

2. If it can already produce a remarkable result by hand and foam applicator, why do we have to have a rotary polisher ready before wetsanding? Coz I only have a PC XP as a helper and I'm eager to learn how to wetsand.

I've also got a question...on a chip repair on my black motorcycle tank, I wet sanded to level with a 2000 block, then used the CC safe polish. The chip is smooth, but the surrounding clear coat is all sandmarks (haze?)that I just couldn't get out by hand with the polish. Does it sound to all here I'm a good candidate for M105??

We just responded to your dedicated thread on this same subject, but yes, M105 would do a better job than the light Polishing Compound you used. Ultimate Compound would do better, too, and it's going to be a lot easier for you to source, and less expensive too.

I'm done painting my hornet bike and I'm currently wet sanding the fenders and gas tank using 1500, 2000, 2500 grits... can I use M105 after wet sanding? I'm planning to do it just by hand... or M205 will be much better?

M105 is definitely the product to follow wetsanding as it is a heavy cutting compound. M205 is a fine polish meant to be the second step in the 1-2 combo of M105 --> M205.

how about ultimate compound? would that be a good idea? I find it hard to acquire M105, ultimate compound sells for about $23...

Ultimate Compound most often will work fine in removing wetsanding marks, although it isn't technically developed for that purpose. I have personally used it a few times with great results, but it isn't something that can be guaranteed. It also depends on the quality of the paper you use and whether or not it has gauges that go deeper than 2,500 should leave behind. Most likely, though, UC will do the trick.
