  • Regular Clay -Vs- Liquid Clay Bar

I would like some one to give some info regarding these products.

The reason I am asking is because a liquid clay bar does not sound to confident in my opinion. I don't think the liquid clay bar would pick up half the things that a hard core clay bar would. So I thought I would ask.

if you are talking turtle wax junk, forget about it. don't even bother. I like Megs professional clay (blue).

If you are looking for something quick and easy then the liquid clay is the way to go but if you want it done the right way making sure the surface feels like glass and all contaminants are removed than nothing can beat an actual clay bar. I have tested both together and while the liquid was easier it did not pick up nearly half of what the actual clay bar did. After a couple of passes with the liquid i could still feel some contaminants on the paint.

Perfect time of day for a good chuckle, thanks for that! It's always a good idea when trying to sell a product to compare it to something designed with the same purpose in mind, and all the more impressive when comparing it to the gold standard and outperforming it. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 are both great vehicles, but you don't demonstrate how well the Jeep tackles a really tough trail by showing how poor the Corvette is at rock climbing.

I believe Richard Lin from Show Car Detailing tested this product against the Meguiars blue clay. The result was night and day. Meguiars removed far more "junk" off the paint than the Turtle Wax product. Liquid clay worked no better than a mild polish.
Don't get me started on Turtle Wax Ice polish.

We aren't here to bash other companies products, so please keep that in mind.

If memory serves, when Richard Lin did the test of the Liquid Clay Bar he actually found some benefit to it with regard to very fine swirls and light contaminants, but ease of use was not the product's forte and compared to using a traditional clay bar it was neither as effective nor as user friendly.

Re: Regular Clay -Vs- Liquid Clay Bar

I view 'liquid clay' as a different way to market a decent prewax cleaner.

If you view it, and use it, as a prewax cleaner then it should work well.

It certainly isn't to be compared to a clay bar!

as far as I am concerned, stay away from anything turtle wax, the only thing I've found of theirs that works even somewhat is the chrome polish, and I stopped using it for a different product anyway.

I do not like liquid clay it defeats' the purpose of what clay was meant to do and it is so messy big waste of money and time.
