  • 2 Details in 1 day for me is

...usually not common for me. On Saturday I did just that. By 9am I was in Burbank ready to work on vehicle #1. Ah yeah the famous black Yukon I've posted about at least twice before. This time it was evenly covered in waterspots. The owner told me it was in a shoot where it was set to resemble a rain storm. The water for the rain was supplied via a fire hydrant. Luckily they weren't etched in. The wash alone removed all the spots. Paint was still well protected from the #21 I had applied back in March. After the wash I thoroughly checked the paint for any bonded contaminants which there weren't any.
So I went at it using G110 with W-8006 pad & #66. #80 in certain areas that did have defects.
    Waxed with NXT 1.0
    Headlights polished with Plast-X
Wiped down engine with Hyoer dressing
    Wiped down interior & vacummed
    Time: 4:30hrs.

Finished cleaning up & I'm now ready to take a drive out to Santa Monica for vehicle #2. By this time I'm hungry & hot. Thermostat reads 99 degrees. Stop by Mickey Dees for some grub & ready to head out.

A 1984 Lincoln Mark VII was vehicle #2. No major polishing required just needed to be cleaned up a bit. I was amazed how well kept up this car was. All original parts.

    Washed with Gold Class
    Clayed
    G110 with W-8006 & #66 followed by NXT
    HD on tires
    Wiped down interior.
    Time: 2:38 hrs.

The interior was immaculate. I loved the buttons. Not bad for 1984 technology. The door even had a keypad. Some of these buttons were exactly the same as the 2008 Ford Expedition I worked on a few weeks back

All done & ready to head back home for an ice cold drink.

Thanks guys. It's kind of funny to know that if I need to do something across a room or something fairly easy I get lazy and say to myself. Eh, I'll do that later. But driving out to two cities in a near 100 degree day to wash & polish out cars & driving back home happy I think confirms I'm car crazy or just plain crazy. I'm sure many of you out there would probably do the same & it's forums like this one that one can understand why another does crazy things like this. Thanks again guys!

Nice job! That sounds like a long day. Nuthin worse than a 100 degree day.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.
