I wanted to ask a stupid question. How easy is it to burn through a edge with a G110. Thank you

I don't think it's much of a concern, working a factory quality finish, with polishing (8006) and finishing (9006) pads, and products intended for the dual-action polisher. You obviously don't want to dwell on edges, decals, etc. The diminishing abrasive products like Meguiar's #80 and #83, and their waxes/sealants can be applied and worked as apprpriate with the DA.

If you do polish through and edge it won't be with heat. That machine is designed to stop rotating when too much pressure (causing friction) is applied.

It is hard, but there are still precautions you can take. For instance, dont work directly on top of an angle/edge.

For instance, if two panels join at an angle, you want to keep you pad flat on one panel as you work up to and along the edge. Then keep your pad flat on the other panel as you work up to and along the edge.

Does that cover a fire from the motor overheating? My UDM died today mid detail session and the darn thing was so hot (all of a sudden) that I darn near dropped it on the hood!

Well, I guess that's what warranties are for!
