    M9910 Ultimate Wipe

In my first interview with Barry Meguiar in circa 1999 or 2000, he and Mike Pennington demonstrated their new Ultimate Wipe by spraying some M40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner onto the hood of a Black Mercedes-Benz and then asked me to wipe it off using a towel, which I proceeded to attempt only to fight the product off and leave a smeary mess as I knew would be the case.

Mike then took the below M9910 Ultimate Wipe and made one wipe across the same area and demonstrated how efficient microfiber technology was at removing liquid films off painted surfaces. It was probably the first time I remember seeing a M9910 microfiber polishing cloth and it was impressive.

I asked Barry and Mike if I could keep it and they said yes and I still have it in my collection today. Note the maroon edging.

    Cool memory Mike!!

I fell in love with the Ultimate Wipe the first time I used one. At the time, they had black edging. I purchased a single towel but after using it, I went right back to the store and bought 12 more!

Still my favorite towel after all of these years!!!

      Thanks for sharing Mike.

I have some ultimate wipes just until they became discontinued I think, I have like 3 or them in total and they preform wonderful each time as I want to. I'm thinking on buying more now that they are available again.

That is a cool story Mike. Hearing things like that make me happy I added a three pak to my ads order. Thanks for sharing that memory.

Ah yes, the Ultimate Wipe. I'd heard stories of this glorious towel but, alas, they were no longer produced by the time I became aware of them so I figured I was out of luck. But, hey, it's a towel, right?

Well, I had the chance to actually use one - well, several actually - during the Alpine Electronics cut & buff session over the Holidays and I must say I was beyond impressed. Some products have silly names, some have names that they just can't live up to. In this case "Ultimate" is just dead on - these are simply fantastic.

            Super-Cool!

Any chance you could get that towel signed by the major players?

I tried the ultimate wipes for the first time after I bought some items from Kevin Brown and he sent me a complimintary one. I love them...I bought a dozen more with the next order I got from Kevin. I still use the gold microfibers for the every day stuff but for the nice rides, out come the ultimate wipes.

How do the Ultimate Wipes stack up against the Supreme Shines? I use the SS towels for removing wax when I am working by hand. Is the Ultimate Wipe as good for that or are they better for cleaning glass etc?

                Thanks...

IMHO Ultimate Wipes are one of best out there for removal of polish and wax and better than SS, but don't trust me, put your hands on one and make your own conclusion, they are so inexpensive that there is no reason why not to try.

I have been using mine when I use #135 on my mazda. Got to say they are the best. The smooth finish it leaves behind is great.

I have some brand new Ultimate Wipes and some brand new Supreme Shine Microfibers and I have to say that I prefer the Supreme Shine for removing wax and polish and also when using Quik Detailer or UQD. They're more plush and bigger. Not that the Ultimate Wipe isn't a great product (it is!) but I guess it comes down to personal preference. I'm not out there using these products every day though because detailing is just a hobby for me.

I like the Supreme Shine and plan to use them often!
