  • Have You Guys Heard Of This Different Microfiber Cloth

    Hi Guys/Gals

I was searching thru Google 4 some fine terry clothes 4 my new '08 BULLITT.

Can across a site that had this: NEEDLE PUNCH MICRFIBER TOWELS

The site said that this towel was BETTER than the regular Microfiber Towels due to the fact that they were/are MORE LENT FREE

    Some Question(s) Please:

    1. Have any you out there ever heard or used these towels

    2. If so, how do you like 'me

    That's it 4 now guys.

    Take Care
    GOD BLESS

Re: Have You Guys Heard Of This Different Microfiber Cloth

I just Googled those towels and I saw a price range of $0.28 to $3.50 per towel... I have encountered the 'microfiber lint' problem on glass. It is a strange thing! I suspect that the plastic sandwiched between the glass is the culprit that sets the stage for the static electricity problem...

I still prefer a thin, soft cotton towel for doing glass. I do use microfiber on glass, but generally I see better results with the cotton (In the 'streak-removal' department)....

It's nice using microfiber on interiors because they don't lint like a cotton towel, and that's a big deal on some of the rough textures, flocking, etc., commonly used on interiors these days.

Put it this way- If I had to use one or the other for the rest of my life... On glass... I'd still prefer cotton.

The more expensive are listed as:
'Needle Punch Microfiber Towels are a new microfiber towel designed specifically for windows and chrome. It still has the absorption properties to it so you can even dry your car with it, but it has the weight and feel of a heavy paper towel that you just can't tear! Great glass cleaner towel! Best of ALL it dries 8 times faster than cotton and can withstand 150 Industrial Washings! All this with no lint or streaks! Plus these have no hems or tags that can sometimes lead to scratches on painted surfaces. Needle Punch is Durable, which means you won't see frayed ends on these towels! If your looking for a Glass Cleaner towel , this one wins hands down, it's so versatile!', and, 'Why Needle Punch instead of microfiber? Needle Punch is not a microfiber but a microfilament fabric. The difference is that Microfiber is chemically bonded and is therefore build up out of short fibers. Our Needle Punch on the contrary is a microfilament fabric and is produced with split fibers which are bonded through hydro entangling and the fibers are therefore "endless", which means that the fabric is absolutely lint free in comparison with the low lint features of a microfiber. If you compare the linting of a microfiber and our microfilament fabric Needle Punch, you will see the difference. Needle Punch has a very high absorption capacity and dries again very fast! Needle Punch is an Endless Microfilament Non woven fabric. Composition--70% Polyester & 30 Polyamide. Characteristics - Absolute lint free, U. V. protection, fast drying, good absorption speed, resistant to most solvents, anti-allergic. Streak free, great for windows, polishing & waxing. Captures dust and dirt, Highly absorbent, Economical, Reusable, will handle over 150 industrial washings. Can be dyed, soft feel, cleans tight spaces in interior detailing and dries 8 times faster than cotton

Yes, they tend to not have a 'nap', but are flat. I have used them. Some of the guys I know (that detail) like them, but overall, they don't.

The 'glass-cleaning' microfibers don't hold a lot of liquid, and have to be swapped for a fresh one rather frequently. If you do a Google search, I think Hi-Tech Industries, SMArnold, and other companies offer them.

Re: Have You Guys Heard Of This Different Microfiber Cloth

I struggled with streaks on my glass when using all sorts of microfiber towels, including those very low nap glass towels. After spending time with Kevin at SEMA I'm totally converted to cotton terry on the glass, inside and out.

But if you're looking for the best microfibers to use on that Highland Green paint covering your Bullitt, then look no further than Meguiar's Ultimate Wipes. Just an amazing microfiber towel in every respect.

Re: Have You Guys Heard Of This Different Microfiber Cloth

One tip for cleaning glass is to have a few extra clean cloths on hand no matter what you're using, the idea being is if you've removed any kind of film of the glass with your initial wipe, next switch to a clean, dry, uncontaminated cloth for your final or secondary wipes, that way you've reduced the potential to simply re-transfer any gunk or film you've removed back onto the glass.

Many folks try to clean glass using one cloth and the problem with this is you keep introducing the stuff you've removed from the glass back to the surface of the glass, if this is the case, then how can you expect to get streak-free results.

              Always work clean.

DUH! I think you just just upped my glass cleaning results up quite a few notches.

I definitely recommend the two MF towel glass cleaning approach. You need one to clean and one to dry.

I LOVE the microfiber glass towels from Auto Detailing Solutions, but my method to using them is a bit unique. First, I take a regular Supreme Shine microfiber and use UQD on the whole car, glass included. I then buff the glass with a dry, clean glass towel and the glass comes out COMPLETELY streak free with great ease. I then, if needed, finish the paint up with a clean, dry Ultimate Wipe, and bam, I got one shinny car!
