  • Damaging Black Matte Finish

I have read that # 7, #21 and #26 do not dry with a white residue. If this is so would these products damage the matte finish around the windows and moldings if they were not taped prior to applying?

These products won't damage these components but they will still tend to stain them at some level.

The safe approach is to be careful when working around them or tape them off.
