A few months back I decided to embrace the Meguiar's 5-Step Paint Care Cycle on the wifes dark gray 1999 suburban with very impressive results.
Using information gleened from MOL, I ordered up on grit guards, microfiber towels and mitts, clay & lube, DC#1,2,3, Scratch X, NTX wax, NTX spray wax and Ultimate detailer. It came from ADS in one big box.
I applied by hand and was very, very pleased even though its not swirl free and up close, I have a ways to go. but from a few yards away.. its awesome. However, It took the full weekend. The make-over started on Friday night with me implimenting my new 2 bucket wash process, Then used my new Microfiber water removal technique and then I dove into the clay process that I've never attempted before. After that came the aplication of DC#1, Then 2 or 3 coats ofScratch X on the bigger scratches. DC# 2 Finally ending late sunday night with the 2nd coat of NTX. (Didn't get a chance to use DC#3)
Although I used liberal amounts, I still have plenty of product left over.
To make the job go quicker next time, For christmas, Santa ordered me a G100a "christmas special" from ADS. Not sure how it got there....(wink) I noticed under my xmas tree a box the size of the Ultimate Kit w/ Scratch X and NTX 2.0. YEAH !
Anyways, I intend to use my new DA w/ my exsisting product (DC#1,2 and 3/Scratch X/ntx 1.0 & 2.0) on all my cars until they're gone... then I'll look to products specifically for the DA.
OK ... sorry long story for a quick question, Is that a the right approach ? or am I better off getting product specifically for the DA ?
Thoughts ? tips ?
Thanks in advance for your input !
Cheers !
