Cool, I didn't know there was a 7Series Hydrogen powered.
          Thanks for sharing Joe

            Very cool Joe!

I think ultimately hydrogen is going to be the fuel of the future since there's a virtually limitless supply and the only emissions a hydrogen powered engine produces is pure water vapor. What's cool about this BMW is it's sort of the ultimate flex fuel vehicle; it can run on either hydrogen or gasoline!

Nice write up on this particular vehicle at http://www.autobloggreen.com/2006/09...mw-hydrogen-7/

I believe there are a handful in the state of California. Not much, I know, but you have to start somewhere!!!

A truck come to thier house and fill'em up. It isn't owned by my client. BMW still owns it. It is a lease only type deal I think.

So what's the cost of a Hydrogen-powered BMW? I've never heard of a production hydrogen vehicle. Thought they were only in prototypes. Cool.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

                      BMW web site -

To help protect the environment, we looked to the elements.

Our long-term EfficientDynamics strategy can be summed up with one vehicle: the BMW Hydrogen 7. As the world's first luxury performance sedan with hydrogen drive, it runs on the most plentiful element in the world and emits virtually nothing but water vapor. And because the infrastructure for refueling a hydrogen internal combustion engine is not yet complete, the V-12 engine also runs on gasoline at the push of a button, though emissions will result. But all it takes is the power of the Hydrogen 7's 12-cylinder, 260 horsepower engine to prove the capability of our EfficientDynamics. The BMW Hydrogen 7 is not available for purchase at this time, but is considered to be a milestone in bringing forward hydrogen as the sustainable fuel for individual transportation.

I drove in some when they had an exposition here a few years ago and they said that each prototype cost about $1,000,000 to build. They had about 10 of each car so they weren't one-off or anything too.

I'd much rather drive a 7-series than the Honda FCX they're leasing out in southern California soon.

I didnt drive it. Just detailed it. It was squeezed into a car port in Beverly Hills. Owned by a major movie star - I'm not saying who -LOL

I bet you could do an online search and figure out who it is .
