The secondary label is to put on a Meguiars dispenser bottle.

It appears to have the same rating on the chart as $85. It is definitely stronger than #84 as the strength indicator is higher.

How does it compare to #85?

I know it goes like this:

          Mild
          #82
          #80
          #83
          #84
          #85
          Abrasive

Where would $105 go? What is up with #95? Where would it go?

What about #9, I never figured it out either.

          Thanks

#105 is more abrasive than #85 - it's intended for fast removal of major surface deffects with minimal swirl.

Example w/ rorary - you could use #105 with a W4000 wool pad and go right to #82 with a #8000/8006 foam pad.

#95 and #105 are egual in cutting strength but #95 isnt going to feature the "diminishing abrasives" like the #105 will.

#95 is more comparable to your old school rubbing compound.

#9 is alot like #82 but it's less oily. If your paint is real dry then use #82 if not then use #9.

But remember it's still comes down to using what works best for each vehicle. Don't try to get a system that works across the board for every car. Each vehicle will need it's own process.

            hope that helps you out.

                Agree - M85 is a 10 on our abrasive scale, and M105 and M95 are rated a 12.

Agree - However, when tackling severe defects M105 works best with the W5000 Double Sided Wool Pad.

While M95 and M105 are close in cutting ability, M105 will get you there quicker and also leave behind a much glossier (swirl free) finish than M95.
M105 does not feature diminishing abrasive. It features a new super micro abrasive.

M95 does look (it is brown) and act like ( it has drag while buffing) the old school compounds, but it is a state of the art compound as well that is safe for new clears. (it is not rocks in a bottle)

M09 is similar to M82, but not necessarily "less oily". It is a tick less abrasive, and is available in 16 oz sizes.

                  Hi there,

Is the double sided wool pad in the kit a W5000 or a lesser spec wool pad?

I'm trying to sort out a kit and am not sure whether to get a W5000 also at the same time

                  Cheers

The W5000 Double Sided Wool Pad is included in the kit, I don't think the Adapter that connects the built-in backing plate for the wool pad to the spindle on the rotary buffer is included however.

Happy to help out... make sure you get an adaptor also....

In order to attach our W5000 Double Sided Wool pad to your rotary buffer you'll need to get an adapter that threads onto the internal backing plate built into the W5000 DS wool pad and onto the 5/8 spindle on your rotary buffer.

                        Like this...

The place I am purchasing from gives a free adaptor, however my rotary is an M14 thread (curse the metric system) i may have to get a M14 to 5/8 adaptor also!

I'll be standing about a foot from the pad at this rate lol
