    Re: New Forum Rules!

I'm new here and have been spending quite a bit of time just reading posts and absorbing as much as I can. I am a little confused about #4 because of some posts comparing different products causing problems with MOL, maybe I saw it after some of it was removed, but I didn't see bashing but informative discussion. What's the difference and how do we know? I was going to ask a question and now I'm afraid to post.

    Morning,

Just for clarification so that people are aware of what we are discussing, here is Forum Rule #4

    4. No bashing any company or their products. No bashing other people. If you can't say anything nice about someone, then don't say anything at all.

What we are saying and encouraging is meaningful discussion without bashing of a company's products (Meguiar's and other companies as well) or the bashing of individuals. The detailing world seems to illicit strong feelings as people have their favorite products and to some it is almost become a following of sorts. If a person bashes a product, a company, or another person, we politely ask them to not do that usually by sending an email, PM or by adjusting the thread with an edited statement in the post or as a separate post. If they ignore our friendly warning, then will have their membership suspended or completely banned depending on the infraction. In the end, we let the Rules work!

Just so everyone is on the same page, we will clean up necessary threads to remove blatant spam, bashing etc as it does nothing to contribute to the Forum. We will not censor or edit people's opinions unless they become bashing and/or violate the forum rules. Sometimes members like yourself will come to a discussion after the the trouble has already happened and the offending parts of the thread have been removed in order to bring a meaningful discussion back to light. Also keep in mind, some people join forums simply for their own agenda. We take great pains to be as fair as possible but alas we will enforce the forum rules where need be.

Finally, we at Meguiar's Online take great pride in making MOL one of the most family friendly forums on the Net! We go out of our way to make sure that people have a forum where they can feel comfortable posting to regardless of their experience in detailing.

I hope that clears things up!

    Tim

Well your link didn't work and it led me to another forum when I googled it. I do hope it isn't spam. Please introduce yourself in the appropriate forum and do not post any links before you have 30 legitimate posts. I am giving you the benefit of the doubt.
