  • Cleaning wheel wells

What is the best way?. I have never detailed mine. I usually hit them with the pressure washer and that is it.
I found a foam brush to coat the insides.

I use APC, foaming head sprayer, and some kind of soft brush. Spry, wipe rinse.. dont let it sit too long.

    Then dress with foam brush.

I spray mine with APC and brush with a toilet brush I picked up at the grocery store. After washing and drying the rest of the car I spray some Armor All (hey, it's cheap and we're talking wheel wells here!!) up in there and then wipe down with an old round terry cloth wax applicator.

APC and Safe - D Greaser.

        both diluted to about 10:1

Spray, wait, like 30 seconds. wipe and agitate. RINSE. Dress with hyper dressing or M39 or m40

I usually wash my fender wells along with the wheels at first so the paint wont dry on me. I use a brush for the rims, brush for the tires, and just a cheap sponge with megs soap in the bucket. Ive used APC+ diluted 4:1 and it really didnt change the out come, so I just save it.

I then use megs ASD with an applicator thats made to put tire shine on the tires.

I realize that my fender wells are alot bigger than most though. My jeep has a 3" lift.

            Re: Cleaning wheel wells

when cleaning the wheel wells, i turn the front wheels in so it's easier to get inside and do a thorough cleaning (wearing latex gloves helps). i use apc or some car soap and a good sponge and scrub away (my wheel wells are never that bad so i don't have to clean them that hard), and once it's all done... i spray tire foam and walk away and it dries to a nice sheen...

Sounds good! I'll give it a try the next time I detail.
              Thanks.

I use APC then rinse. I bought some cheap low shine Armor All and it works great on the frame and plastic parts giving it a real nice low gloss black. HyperDressing would work well diluted to 4:1 for a matte finish.
