  • Insane shine on a black Fiat Bravo

Here I present you a photo report of my detailing day I started of at approx 0900 and finished at 1500 (allmost non-stop). I know how much you like photographs so i took about 80, I selected 64 for publishing onm this website.

    The process

    01. High pressure rinsing in a wash box.
    02. Washing with Shampoo & Conditioner #62.
    03. Clay with Mild Clay (the blue one from the professional line).
    04. Degreasing Bumpers with common household degreaser
    05. Show Car Glaze #7 applied and removed
    06. Apply 1st layer of Yellow Wax #26.
    07. Cleaning the wheels and applying High Gloss Endurance Gel.
    08. NXT wax on the rims.
    09. Wipe-off 1st layer of wax with Ultimate Wipe
    10. Apply 2nd layer of Yellow Wax #26.
    11. Touching up bumpers with Trim Detailer
    12. Wipe-off 2nd layer of wax with Ultimate Wipe
    13. PlastX on the rear- and headlights
    14. All Metal Polish on the locks and bonnet lifters

First rinsing the car in a local wash box.

Here they also have a "five-step-cleaning-cycle".

When being back home, prepping the detailing kit.

I received this Ultimate Wipe for particitpating in the Meguiar's Shining Star Gallery. I am anxtious to try it out.

These are about all the products i think i will need for todays detailing session.

De Shampoo & Conditioner #62 goes by the gallon, so i poured some in this empty Soft Wash Shampoo bottle. For measurement is a paint mixture container. I use about 50ml. product on 8 - 10 litre water.

A few pictures from the finish before washing:

All the equipment is reader to commence detailing I use the small cut-off hose for delivering a smooth stream of water when rinsing the shampoo of the vehilce. The sheeting minimizes the amount of water on the panels.

For the really dirty parts of the car i use a cheap spunge i use this for the wheel arcs, the edge below the doors and the rims.

For removing the excessive water i use a Natural Chamois. I spread it out over the panel and pull i from one side to the other.

The final wipe-off is offcourse with a Water Magnet.

Claying the entire care, not much dirt came off it was pretty clean already. I just wanted to remove all the old wax before i applied Show Car Glaze #7.

After claying the car i applied Show Car Glaze #7. I gives a nice shine but without wax it doesnt look right yet. I applied to the entire car and then wiped it off in multiple passes just like Mike Philips in his Corvette instruction video.

The result of Show Car Glaze #7 with a layer of wax. There is some wet shine but doesnt quite sparkle yet

Time to apply the wax for finishing of the detailing...

Touching up the tires with High Gloss Endurance Gel while the wax is curing

For wiping off the wax i used a Ultimate Wipe, I really like this towel because of it absorbing ability and small size.

After the second layer of wax i applied trim detailer to the bumpers while the wax was curing.

The result of 1 layer Show Car Glaze and 2 layers Yellow Wax is jst amazing! The shine is better then i have ever seen before on my car! Meguiars thank you for the great products you manufacture!

If i remember reading the instructions correctly on the back of #7 it recommends not letting it dry, im guessing because once its dry it gets hard to remove.

Very nice work. Good to see that those 6 hours produced a very sharp looking ride.

Thanks for all the kind words, it means a lot to me!

#7 is very easy to remove with a 100% cotton terry towel. You shouldnt let it dry in the sun, because then it becomes quite difficult to remove. When you work in the shaddow, you can let it sit for a couple of minutes while you treat the car of the panels with #7. After finishing applying #7 too the entire car gently wipe it off in a few passen with 100% cotton terry towel. There is an instructional video clip with Mike Philpis using the same routine.

Good start! You seem very dedicated in documenting the entire process! *hehe* I think it's time you picked up an ROB and started using DACP to take this one level up
