    TrufflePig,

Meguiars heave duty carpet cleaner works well, however if it's bad you will probably need to have them steam cleaned (especially on the drivers side where your feet always rest).

well first things first i will have to try and find some heavy duty carpet cleaner.

        will this one work?

I would think that Quik Out would work.

Now for a shameless plug... Check out my review of it here... Quik Out Review

so the local Wal Mart and Crappy Tire don't have Heavy Duty Carpet Cleaner.

two down one more to go.

            not looking so good.

I would use Megs APC+, work it in with the megs interior brush, then rinse the area with my little green machine(clean water in it) and vacuum dry.

Stronger cleaners make no diference on salt stains. If you dont have an extractor wet scrub vacume and repeat.

                    Re: salt stains and questions

Being born and raised in the blessed city of Fargo, ND I can tell you that the best thing you can use on your carpets to remove those salt stains is a Cleaner with a Steam Vacuum. A carpet cleaner alone will work, but it will take a lot of time and elbow grease to clean up by itself. With the help of the steam cleaner you can knock that salt out and be done cleaning in minutes.

I use a steam vac to clean the salt and other dirt from the carpet in our vehicle's.
