Do you walk out of a auto part store empty handed? Every time I go to a store that has to do with cars I need to buy something for it. Like cleaning supplies, new mats, air freshners even decals.

Re: You and auto part stores
I have sometimes waled out with nothing at all. Yhe reason being you call ahead your specific with your needs, they say they have it in stock, you go thier and they dont have the item or "I thought you meant this" Nice try c-ya. Otherwise I usually come out with something.quality creates its own demand

Re: You and auto part stores
For me typically nothing at all. I don't care for Auto Parts Stores the times I have asked about Meguiars products I have found they lack knowledge in that area.Brandon

Re: You and auto part stores
I usually just go to O'Reilly's, and since they carry Meguiar's pro line stuff, its hard to leave empty handed. I'm lucky enough to have found a store with a manager who knows a thing or two about detailing."No man is so foolish but he may sometimes give another good counsel, and no man so wise that he may not easily err if he takes no other counsel than his own. He that is taught only by himself has a fool for a master." --Hunter S. Thompson

Re: You and auto part stores
My local Sherwin Williams Automotive is great. The auto parts stores around here dont carry much Meguiars. At SW I now have an account set up even. It's free, with no minimum to buy. I get stuff for a little less than ADS prices with out shipping. If they dont stock it, it only takes them a few days to get it. They even said they would stock items that I think I might be needing.Scott

Re: You and auto part stores
I chose Always buy something that relates to a car as my response, but I should qualify that:
I only step into an autoparts store when I go there with intent to buy something specific, so my buying to visiting ratio is extremely high. I don't recall ever going to an auto parts store just to look around.Michael Stoops

Re: You and auto part stores
I only go to O'reilly because they have a huge selection and are more friendly. If you go to their site, just search for "Mirror Glaze" in "Tools, accessories, etc." They have a lot of stuff in stock and stuff that they can get before 7:30 the next morning. For example, I desperately needed DACP for really tough detail. They had by the next morning waiting for me. Just ask and they'll get it. If you ask for the Meguiar's catalog, they have tons of stuff.
As for stuff in the store, they have some pro series stuff near the body repair section. #26, Fine and Medium Cut cleaner, Show and New car Glaze, Swirl Remover, Machine Glaze, and #40. They also have a good selection from the consumer series.Chris

Re: You and auto part stores
I only recommend Napa. My Napa has a good selection of Meg's and nearly the whole pro line is available on shelf or special order. I picked up a gallon of #40 and #34 the other day. The help is far superior to the AutoZone we have.Watch your pennies and your dollars will take care of themself.

Re: You and auto part stores
Hers another reason I tend to shy away from auto part stores. Last time I was in one looking around, saw some mf glass towels. Bought them. When I got home, Removed the package and they glued the wrapper to the towels. What a Einstien. Took them back the next day. They refunded me the money. Clerk said "everyone that buys these returns em." Well How many returns does it take to figure out to remove them from the shelf.quality creates its own demand
