Endurance Tire Gel

I use the endurance high gloss tire gel all the times after I washed my car. The reflection is great on the tires; however, each time when I was driving the car on the road, some gel (black dots) were splashed on my fenders and bumpers.

Note, the gel was applied on the car more than 4 hours before I drive my car. I only use the sponge to apply the gel on the tires (thin layers).

Any ideas?

You are using too much of the product, after applying wait about 1/2 hour and wipedown tire's with a terry cloth to reduce the amount of possible splatter..

Through the course of detailing cars for years, I build-up a collection of towels that are not of a good enough quality to use on paint work. I save these for other procedures like wiping off any excess tire dressing from tires. This prevents splatter onto the finish.

Save your tatty towels for jobs like this.

You could always consider switching to a water based product as well. The gels always gave me trouble and disappointed me.

Be sure to scrub your tires clean when you wash your car and don't just put this dressing on over dirty tires. I use a B&D Scumbuster with some EXTRA to remove all the spent anti-ozone material from the tires. Once clean and dry I apply the dressing and let it sit for about 10 minutes then, as Mike pointed out, I use some old toweling to buff the excess off. I never see slings if I follow this procedure.

I just started using it also, and haven't had any problems with sling. I normally let it sit on the tires while I'm cleaning up, i.e. putting the hose away, drying towels, etc. After doing a final walk around on the car, then I buff it off with an old towel like everyone else has suggested. Hope this helps.

A lot of the problems of sling can be attributed to ribs or grooves on the sidewall of some tires. These grooves tend to hold excess dressing and can account for sling if not removed. If you are having this problem I find a small scrub brush will clean out the grooves and solve this problem. Brush out the grooves when you wipe down the tire with your towel.

I use a paint brush to get excess out of grooves side lugs and raised whites.

You know I had the same problem with endurance sometimes, but since switching to #38 I've yet to have a drop of it sling. Maybe I was just using too much endurance, but I've never wiped off 38 after applying.
