  • New Member with Black cars that need to shine!

I just joined your site, but have been using Meguiars products since the 70's and last year switched to NXT Generation Tech Wax.
On my black cars I have never found anything so simple and without residue.
I'm now asking the experts here,is there anything else in the Meguiars line that will do any more for the shine and protection on my cars?
This Liquid Tech stuff is so easy I don't think I could ever open another can of paste.
    Thanks for your help!

      Hi Dave,

      Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

      Nice Boss Mustang!

It's pretty hard to beat NXT Tech Wax for taking your paint to it's maximum potential, if you're working by hand you might want to consider moving up to machine polishing in the future as your hands cannot outperform the results you can get by machine.

      Here's this too...

        Thanks guys,
In answer to the first ?
        1969 Boss 429 original Raven Black car,original owner,repainted in 2005
2006 Ford Expedition Limited ,also black
        2003 Mercury Marauder,also black
1995 Mecuury Grand Marquis LS,also black

        To Mike,
I don,t see how a buffer could do any more, besides I'm chicken to use it.
This is the first product I have ever used that said to cover the whole car first and it still comes off effortlessly with no residue.I'm a pretty happy camper.Plus, when we take the Boss to car shows,if necessary, I can do the entire in about 30 min after driving in.Sweet !
The only thing that I see that could be easier would be if someone else did it!!

With all black cars, if there ever comes a time when you want to remove the swirls that show up under bright light, the dual action polisher will help you to do this without the fear of burning or swirling the paint. Until then sounds like you have it under control!

Thanks for sharing the cool pictures of your car!

Welcome to MOL.. beautiful 'Stang you have there!
Like Mike said - NXT gives excellent results but keep in mind that you can't achieve the speed and high quality a polishing machine gives you.

Your arms get tired after cleaning / polishing / waxing. So it's likely (or possible) your job isn't 100% on all areas. A machine doesn't get tired and will perform 100% everywhere you use it. I wasn't into machine polishing - afraid to add more scratches, burning the paint, etc. but after I worked with a dual action polisher at a Meguiars Detail Day here in Belgium - boy - I never go back to hand polishing / waxing again!

Takes away all the effort and gives amazing results, fast!

But as long as you're happy with applying NXT by hand, that's fine. More important over machine use, your satisfaction is what matters!

Since the Boss was freshly painted in 05,there are really no swirls, but perhaps with some professional instruction at a seminar I might reconsider.
              On the other hand,it is a good workout,"wax on,wax off "

Beautiful Boss!! In my opinion it's one of the ultimate musclecars! I was like you at first, didn't want to use a PC (polisher) and then after joining MOL and reading everyones posts and doing research I bought one and I'll never go back to hand waxing! It's so much easier and quicker. Again, beautiful car and welcome to MOL!

Thanks! It's my baby. I can tell you're a Ford man, other than reading the list of your cars LOL! Most people think it's a Charger.

                      Sure am Mike,
I bought my first Ford when I was 15,a 1958 Fairlane Convertible, and I wish I still had that one as well.
The Boss was my first new car, kinda glad I did keep it!!
Your Torino is one of my favorite years, nothing like a big, fast Ford musclecar is there.

Well, it could polish out those swirl marks that say "1969BOSS429.com" down the side of the car.
