  • Target practice (bird poop)

Well today started out ok, I had just finished washing my car and as I always do, decided to take it for a short drive to dry out the nooks and crannies. Well somewhere in that very short trip a bird decided he needed a target and I was it . When I got home I was lucky, I noticed it when I got out of the car and quickly grabbed the nxt sd and took it off (all the while swearing and cursing the bird).

But my day just got worse, after arriving home from work I was about to wax the car when I noticed a blob on the roof I didn't see this morning, ok no problem I thought I will just use Scratch X on it.
Well after 4 goes with Scratch X and 3 goes with DC Paint Cleaner its still there. I worked it and worked it to the point I thought I would wear a hole through the roof.

Have I missed something?? I have attached a pic. I just can't seem to get rid of it.

Ohh **** dude. That bird must of had some H2SO4 for breakfast.

Just looks like a bad case of etching to me. Cant believe it did it that fast though.

Yeah me neither. The car had a coating of gold class wax and I used gold class to wash it yesterday.

I would have thought that the wax would have stopped it from etching the paint

I ended up redoing the whole roof again with DC Paint Cleaner, then ScratchX, a coat of Gold Class and 2 coats of Nxt wax. But the mark is still there.
The roof looks good, but I would like to get rid of that mark.

          Thanks
But I know that dam spot is there and its really annoying me, I am at a loss, I don't know what else to do. I can't afford to take it to a detailer.

Hopefully some here might chime in with ideas on how to remove it.

You try using a Porter Cable and #83 on that eching?

              No I don't own one

I have to do it by hand. I rubbed that hard I thought I would rub the paint right off.
