Shelf Life and storage

I know Mike has some bottles around that are old, I mean real old, but do the Meguiar's products i.e. cleaners, plolish and wax have a shelf life. Can they safely be stored outdoors in a cabinet where temperatures might reach between 40 - 90 degrees (yes I know, I live in S. California and am very thankful for it)?

I would think you would be fine. About every month or two , I go thru and shake up all of my products.

I have a few Meguiar's products in my arsenal that are well over ten years old, and they still perform just as fine as the day that I had bought them.

The quote from the post above is most likely a recommendation by Meguiar's to err on the side of caution. If you store your products away from temperature extremes, you should have no problems at all.

In addition to this, be sure to shake your older products thoroughly if you haven't used them in awhile.

I just discovered a used can of #16 from my work. I think it is about 5 to 10 years old. I asked my shop foreman if he need it and he did not, so I took it home. Since the can has been in a 40' car trailer all this time, it has been in cold and hot temperature cycles. I don't think it never seen freezing temperatures. I know it has seen high temperatures since there were a lot of trips at Death Valley and Arizona during summer.

My question to the ones who owns #16, what is the normal consistency of the wax? As far as I could tell, still solid , light blue and did not noticed any separation. When I lightly hand rub the wax, it liquefies that area like the NXT paste wax that I have. The difference is when I push in the wax about 1to 2 pounds, the area I just pushed in it becomes a bit liquefied just like when you lightly rub the wax.

Any thoughts? By the way, I did put the can in a toaster oven to re-melt the wax since most of its content was on its side. Of course I was watching the temperature really carefully. Also, its consistency remained the same after the remelting process.
