We don't manufacure Norton's products. Anything Meguiar's manufactures has our name on the container. We co-lablel some products for some companies like Fender, but our name is on the label.

Hope this helps you to better understand the Meguiar's So1o System.

Still wondering if the pads will be useful for general detailing....

Hmmm, not sure why Mike P didn't respond to this when he bumped the thread almost 3 years ago!!!

Yes, any of the pads in the So1o system, whether foam or wool, can be used for general detailing with other liquids. The wool pads will give you varying cut, just as they do in the system, and the foam pads use the same foam material found in our W8207/W9207 Soft Buff 2.0 pads. Given that the foam pads in the Sol1o system have the diamond cut on the face they will provide slightly reduced cut compared to the flat faced Soft Buff 2.0 pads.

              Mike, just a quick question:
Can So1o Diamond Foam pads be used with DAT products or strictly with SMAT products only?

Because M86 is SMAT liquid I was wondering about their original design.

Because of the grooves in the SOLO pads it is possible for product to get trapped in them and not broken down properly. As a result, you could theoretically push harder, lean on an edge, or maybe just hit a crack differently and expose DAT products in their original, most aggressive state near the end of the working cycle - leaving tracers, gauges, swirls, etc.

In a pinch if all you have is a SOLO pad you can give it a shot and may not have any problems, but you do run the risk of abrasives that weren't properly broken down working themselves into the mix late in the buffing cycle and leaving undesired results.

                  Thanks, Mark.

Well explained. It makes perfect sense.
