That is complete and utter clearcoat failure, not oxidation. The only honest repair is to repaint the entire car.

Sorry for double post, won't lemme edit anymore..

It is safe to assume the rest of the car (OEM paint as well; excluding bumper lol) might follow suit?

          Not nessicerily.

It looks ok in the pic, so if you keep it detailed, then it could be ok.

If it just stays neglected, then anything will fail eventualy.

I would guess that it will cost at least $500.00 to repaint the roof Have them lower the price and after repainting take care of the paint you probably would get several years out of that Finnish.

Yeup. def clearcoat failure. Being that it is such a small piece and is bordered by something other than paint (windshield, t-tops, metal moulding) ... I would say go ahead and have just that piece repainted. No need to go too crazy but you dont want a maaco job either. Probably should run about 200-300 since they won't have to blend it into other areas.

If that's the only area needing paint try it yourself for xtra $$$ when detailing gets slow. I'm quite sure you'll make an improvement over it's current condition & possibly increase your client base.

Nice. I actually used red engine enamel spray on the side mirrors and the nose on one of my friends race cars. Actually came out ok.

While on the topic of resprays. Are the paint jobs that come out of those large scale same day paint places decent? What kind if life would one expect?
