  • How long to wait before polishing/waxing new paint?

Have a Mazda 626 with new paint on the fender. It has been 6 weeks since it's been painted. How much longer. Plan on using 82 followed by 16 on entire car.

they say 40-60days before applying a wax. I am pretty sure you can use a POLISH. you just cannot use a wax on new paint for 40-60days.

Was not sure. A lady from church asked me if I could do her daughters car. It was damaged then repaired.
Just need it to cool down way too hot for me. Right now it's 99 with a heat index of 106.

      Thanks!

No problem. My GFs Saturn got hit about a month ago and had about 800bucks worth of damage and I asked the bodyshop manager and he said you can basically do whatever you want to the car, just dont apply ANY wax for about 45days. He said you can wash it a billion times a day, apply polish, etc. Just no wax

and yeah, I hear ya on the heat lately..its nuts.

Incidently, #80 does have a protective polymer in it that is safe for new paint.

It is not as durable as a wax or anything, but is a possibility to get some protection on fresh paint.
