    What do I cover up?

    Hello everyone!

After I return from Indianapolis, I plan on cleaning the engine compartment of my '05 Mustang GT. My question to everyone out there is what do I cover up?

    1) Battery
    2) Fuse Box
    3) Distributor
    4) Air Intake

Am I missing anything? Should the plug wires be covered as well?

Thanks in advance for your input.

    Jon

The alternator is added to the list. But what about the plug wires?

According to the Mustang manual, you should cover the battery, fuse box and air filter cover. Normally, I just place old T-shirts on the battery and fuse box; the air filter cover is fine by itself.

Apparently, the manual doesn't tell you to cover the alternator or distributor; perhaps because they're already watertight. I've washed my engine bay a few times without covering the alternator, and I've had no startup problems at all.
