Meguiars products work great on both clear coat paints and single stage paints.

What products do you have on hand already? Are you working by hand?

Give these a good read over first:

being the owner of Single Stage paint car, you need to know that removing imperfections are alot easier than that of a BC/CC type car. Remember to do a test spot to see if what you are using is giving you the desired results you want.
As i just typed on another thread ... take mikes advice and use the least aggresive product to get the job done. That way if your not getting the desired result then move up a level of aggresiveness.

out of curiousity what colour is this car?

yes you can safely use clay, it still removes above sufrace contaminants. Make sure you have plenty of towels with you and that you clean your pad between each panel as you will get the colour of the paint come off in your pad and towels.

PS - heres a direct quote from Mike ... "Just a note of caution... be careful around all the raised body-lines, edges and corners as it can be very easy to burn through these areas even when working by hand."
